电商巨头阿里巴巴在10月28日将其旗下的阿里旅行更名为“飞猪”。
主流社交网站新浪微博的网友大量转发阿迪力·买买提的评论，这个在微博有二十多万粉丝的维吾尔族商人发帖说，阿里旅行更改后的名字“伤害穆斯林感情”。
他随后在自己微博主页上道歉，并获得数千次转发。不过，很多人还是为此讨论了一番，到底买买提的说法是否合理。
“动物园壮大了”
根据取向较为自由的《南方都市报》报道，阿里巴巴的代表说，更名是为增加手机用户流量而做的品牌重塑策略当中的一部分。
《北京晨报》则指：“市场需求发生转变，年轻一代带来了旅行消费的升级。”
该旅行网站的英文名改成了“Fliggy”，但很多报刊也意识到了新的中文名字所引起的讨论。
《凤凰旅行》指，这只是阿里巴巴的老板马云在“壮大”他的“动物园”，因为他所拥有的其他公司也有动物的名字。
不过，民族主义报刊《环报时报》则报道，对新名字所产生的穆斯林争议在中国网民中间引发广泛讨论。
“全球穆斯林都忌讳”
除了《环球时报》之外，很多网民都对买买提的评论作出了回应。
买买提一开始的帖子中说：“全球穆斯林都非常忌讳‘猪’这个词。阿里巴巴是国际化企业，在开展全球业务，可否考虑一下穆斯林的忌讳？”
虽然他后来删除了该帖，但它已经被其他用户转发数万次。
一些人表示同意他的看法，但大多数人都对他将名字改回去的建议表示质疑，认为在不同的宗教之间需要互相包容。

10月28日，搜狐网站发表帖子称这个事件引发的“吐槽”，并且指很多网民在讨论这是否对穆斯林造成了冒犯。
不过，该网站之后删除了该篇帖子。
买买提也删除了他原本的帖子，并屏蔽了他的道歉帖子下的评论功能。
