Take a Gander: 95 inches of snow buries Newfoundland town (Photos)

The town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada is used to monstrous snowstorms. Its position adjacent to the Atlantic puts it a sweet spot for many ocean storms that develop off the coast of New England and race northeastward. But the 54 inches (136 cm) from back-to-back Nor’easters over the past week was more than even it is accustomed to. “I spoke with a resident of Gander who grew up in southern Labrador, an area that gets a ridiculous amount of snow in the winter,” said Newfoundland broadcast meteorologist Eddie Sheerr.

The 'crocodile' who snapped back

Why Reddit sucks: some scientific evidence

Reddit, the social news and discussion site, was one of the main sites for sharing illegally hacked photos of naked female celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Rihanna. A Reddit user created a subforum, /r/TheFappening, devoted to these photos. After various scandals and legal threats, the subforum was shut down. The Redditor who created the subforum was not notably repentant, although he was ironically upset that The Washington Post revealed some details of his personal life.
